Sunday March 25th 2012 is the date for this year’s Ormiston Swap, which is held at the Ormiston State School. enter the school from either Wellington St or Dundas Street East. This Ormiston Swap organised by the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club attracts several hundred stallholders selling every thing from parts for cars from the 20-30’s through to vehicle parts from the 70-80’s.

This year the the swap will be bigger than ever it will have bike parts as well as parts for Australian; British; American; Japanese & European vehicles. There will also be stalls selling bric-a-brac. The event attracts thousands of buyers from all over South East Queensland.

This is the one swap you should attend if you are looking for that part or selling parts to make room for something else.

The School P&C supply all the hot and cold food and drinks at very reasonable cost. Gates open 6am. Admission $2.00 per person. Swap Sites $5.00. – Dogs not allowed.  All Catering reserved – Ormiston State School P & C

Redland City Council Sponsor 2012 Australia Day Rally

The Redland City Council sponsored 2012 Redland City Australia Day Rally which was rescheduled to 12/2/12 was a resounding success. The event known as the 2012 Redland City Australia Day Rally. attracted over 350 historic classic vehicles. The rally was also supported by the RACQ and pure Oils. All reports indicated that it was a most enjoyable day. The day raised $1500 for the Sailability charity through the raffle conducted as part of the activities. The raffle was drawn at the Alexandra Hills during the Rally lunch.

2010 Ormiston Swap – March 28th

The Ormiston Swap, held on the last Sunday in March each year, is on the Sunday, the 28th of  March this year.

Entry for swap sites is still just $4.00 and the entry fee for shoppers and lookers is $2.00. Entry to the Ormiston Swap at the Ormiston School is from Wellington St, Ormiston.

Gates open at 5.45am and the day generally finishes about 1.00pm.

Gatton Truck Museum Opening

The Gatton Truck Museum will be opening on Sat November 7th.

There will be a short procession of vehicles for the opening celebrations, if you want to participate:

  • assemble at showgrounds at 8:30am
  • procession departs around 9:30am
  • looking for 11 open-top cars to ferry official party
  • a morning tea MIGHT be on offer at the showgrounds (or museum) but it would be wise to pack your own;
