Membership

Membership of the Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club (BVRC) is open to all old vehicle enthusiasts all over the world. You do not have to be a vehicle restorer to become a member of our club, just someone who is interested in older vehicles. The club has about 200 members and there are over 350 vehicles ranging from 1914 to 1980 in the club. Club events are generally centered around the southeast corner of Queensland (Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coasts).

The club organises regular runs on week-ends and during the week as well a number of major events, such as our Annual Swap Meet and our Australia Day Rally. BVRC also organizes social events such as dinners and other outings throughout the year. Members of the club are eligble for concessional registration of their vehicles over 30 year old for a about $180/year. More information is available from Queensland Transport. Members must obtain a dating certificate from the club dating officer and agree to only use thier concessional registered vehicles in accordance with the rules.

The club produces a very good club magazine four times each year. Back issues are available for download. The club also has an extensive library of workshop manuals, technical books and general motoring books available to members. These books are invaluable when undertaking a restoration or just trying to find out some details about certain models.

To join our club you must attend a General Meeting wtih a completed Application for Membership There is a a Joining Fee of $45 plus an Annual Fee of $30. General meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at the Ormiston State School hall Dundas St East, at 7.30 pm. The membership secretary can be contacted via email or in writing to:

The club has produces a club hand book which is a document which outlines how the club runs. The BVRC HANDBOOK Can be downloaded as a PDF file. It is a valuable resource for any member thinking of taking on a committee position. A copy of the club handbook is also available in the club library or a copy can be obtained from the secretary. The document is updated by the club management committee at least once a year.
