			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club</strong> is pleased to report that our <strong>Australia Day Rally</strong> for 2010 was a success. We attracted 550 cars, 11 bikes, 9 trucks, 2 fire engines and one bus. As the cars assembled, we served up over 1000 breakfasts to the waiting drivers &amp; passengers.</p>
<p>Proceeds from our raffle were used to donate $800 to the <a title="sailability" href="http://www.sailability.org/au/bayside/">Bayside Chapter of Sailability</a>.</p>
<p>The <strong>Courier Mail</strong> was present and have posted a <a title="Australia Day Slide Show" href="http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/gallery/0,23816,5064625-17382,00.html">slide show of photos</a>, taken at the Alex Hills Hotel. A detailed write-up will appear in the next edition of our magazine, due out in February.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.baysideclub.org.au/major-events/australia-day/">2010 Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club Australia Day Rally</a> is all set to go on <strong>Australia Day 26th January 2010</strong>. All Veteran, Vintage, Historic &amp; Classic Vehicles are invited to join us and remember entry is free and no registration required.</p>
<p>The run leaves from <strong>Ormiston State School, Wellington Rd., Ormiston</strong>. Enter through the school gates off Wellington Road; Collect your Australia Day pack then please park your vehicle, as directed; Get your breakfast plate; Buy some raffle tickets (Great prizes as always); Pick up the quiz sheets (more prizes); Collect your free breakfast from 7.30 onwards; Enjoy free cups of tea, coffee &amp; cold drinks; Decide on which of the rally runs you wish to do. (Maps will be on display around the tuck-shop area. The runs leave from different gates so you need choose which run you would most enjoy on the day);</p>
<p>With over 500 vehicles expected to be on display don’t forget to walk around the oval and enjoy the vast array of vehicles. Then at 9.15am a drivers briefing will be held in the tuck-shop area.</p>
<p>At 9.30 am, the day’s runs start. The run sheets will be handed out at the gazebos near the 2 exit gates. Use the maps on display in the tuck-shop area to decide which run best suits your vehicle and therefore which exit gate you should use.</p>
<p>If your club wants to organize their own run that’s OK, but  why not finish its run at Alexandra Hills Hotel at around mid day and join us for the Australia Day lunch.</p>
<p>All the Bayside Club runs will feature a BYO morning tea stop and interesting roads and scenery.</p>
<p>The lunch stop will be at the Alexandra Hills Hotel. Lunch will cost under $6.00, if you buy a drink. The raffle will be drawn and quiz prizes awarded over lunch.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Sunday March 28th</strong> is the date for the Ormiston Swap, which is held at the <strong>Ormiston State School, Wellington Rd., Ormiston.</strong> This event organised by the <strong>Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club</strong> attracts several hundred stallholders selling every thing from parts for cars from the 20-30’s through to vehicle parts from the 70-80’s.</p>
<p>This year there will be Italian cars and bike parts as well as Australian; British; American; Japanese &amp; other European country parts. There will also be stalls selling bric-a-brac. The event attracts thousands of buyers from all over South East Queensland.</p>
<p>This is the one swap you should attend if you are looking for that part or selling parts to make room for something else.</p>
<p>The School P&amp;C supply all the hot and cold food and drinks at very reasonable cost. <strong>Gates open 6am. Admission $2.00 per person. Swap Sites $4.00.</strong> &#8211; Dogs not allowed.  All Catering reserved – Ormiston SS P &amp; C</p>

<p>All suggestions will be forwarded to the RACQ in order to assist in the selection of the featured vehicle at next year’s Motorfest.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Once again Queensland Vintage Vehicle Association Inc. is hosting the &#8216;Great Gatsby Picnic&#8217;. This year the Moreton Bay Regional Council have asked the QVVA to join with them at their Redcliffe First Settlement Festival to be held on Saturday and Sunday the 12th and 13th of September 2009.</p>
<p>The Great Gatsby Picnic this year will be held on Sunday (from 9.00am set up time) on the Redcliffe Parade Foreshore.</p>
<p>If you are interested in coming to &#8216;The Great Gatsby Picnic&#8217; you will need to register by contacting Clint Frater on 3841 6373 or Graham Porter on 3206 1812 by the 4th of September and we will forward instructions for you to get your PRE WAR vehicle and picnic set-up on the foreshore. Picnic and vehicle spaces are limited. There is no cost to enter or register.</p>
<p>&#8216;Boys and Their Toys&#8217; is a display to be held on Saturday the 12th of September the day before the picnic. This day is organised by the Moreton Bay Regional Council to allow the public to get up close to view the Off-shore power boats and Vintage and Classic vehicles. You are more than welcome to bring your vehicle and park it along with others in Thurecht Park, Scarborough from 9-30am to 3.00pm.</p>
<p>This event is presented by the Queensland Vintage Vehicle Association Inc. In conjunction with Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Redcliffe First Settlement Festival.</p>
